On the auspicious day of 12th January 2024, a staggering number of 56,588 devoted pilgrims had the divine opportunity to have darshan, or a glimpse, of the revered deity. Among these pilgrims, a significant number of 16,754 chose to demonstrate their unwavering devotion by performing tonsures, symbolizing their surrender and humility before the divine. The act of tonsuring, where one’s head is completely shaven, holds deep spiritual significance in this sacred journey. Furthermore, the hundi kanukalu, or offerings made in the form of monetary contributions, amounted to an astounding 3.26 crore, a testament to the faith and generosity of the pilgrims. As the sacred shrine continued to receive an influx of devotees, waiting compartments were specially designated to accommodate and ensure a smooth flow of pilgrims in the present direct line. However, it is important to note that the approximate darsan time for Sarvadarshanam, where all pilgrims can have a glimpse of the deity without the requirement of special tokens, starts after 7:30 AM and extends for a duration of 8 hours.
