Who is Eligible to stay at Canara Bank Holiday Home?

Those qualified to avail this facility include employees on LFC/Leave/Holidays, their dependents, and close relatives who are eligible for reimbursement under Leave Fare Concession (LFC), provided they accompany the employees. Additionally, ex-employees retired on superannuation and their dependents are also eligible.

How Long Can You Stay at Canara Bank Holiday Home?

Canara Holiday Home Booking Procedure

Employees who are going on Leave Fare Concession (LFC) are permitted to make an advance booking for a maximum period of three months. On the other hand, employees who are proceeding on leave and those who have retired on superannuation can make an advance booking for one month only. It is important to note that employees availing LFC will be given priority over others, while the booking process operates on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The booking should be in a definite prescribed format furnished in Annexure II with a certificate from the forwarding branch to the overseeing branch/office. The salary drawing branch of the employee/pension drawing branch or the branch where the retired employee is having an account is the forwarding branch. While forwarding the request, the rental amount is to be kept in Sundry Liabilities accounts payable – “Holiday Home Account” with details of the employee. On confirmation of booking from the overseeing branch/office, the amount in Sundry Liabilities is to be reversed, and a branch advice is sent to the overseeing branch/office. If the rooms are not booked by the overseeing branch/office, the amount kept in Sundry Liabilities is to be refunded to the employee, on receipt of information about non-booking.

The establishment offers a convenient check-in and check-out service that is available around the clock. It is worth noting that a portion of the day is deemed as a complete day.

Procedural Guidelines for Cancellation of Bookings
In the event that a booking is cancelled by an employee upon receipt of the confirmation of booking from the overseeing branch or office, the rental fee for the room will not be refunded, and transfer of the rental fee towards accommodation for any other period is not permitted.

Non-Advance Bookings: Rooms, if available, may be allocated to employees or retired employees upon personal visitation without prior booking. In the event that the overseeing branch or office is closed, the caretaker or hotelier may be authorized to allocate rooms subject to the presentation of an identified card or letter by the concerned party. Payment must be made via Demand Draft favoring “Canara Bank Account – Holiday Home.” In the rare occurrence that cash payment is made, a proper receipt should be obtained from the caretaker.

Canara Holiday Home Rental Structure

The holiday home rental structure for employees and their eligible dependents seeking reimbursement under LFC regulations is as follows: (a) Rs. 30/- per person per day, (b) Rs. 50/- per family per day for a room equipped with up to two beds, and (c) Rs. 60/- per family per day for a room with more than two beds. For dependents and close relatives who are not eligible for LFC reimbursement, the rental charges will be twice the amount applicable to employees in cases where holiday homes are located in the bank’s own buildings or in leased accommodations. For holiday homes that are located in hotels or the YMCA, the bank will reimburse the actual charges paid.

Catering Facility in Holiday Home

Holiday homes provide catering facilities that are available in hotels and other holiday homes. Room rent does not include food and beverage charges, which are separate.

Employees who stay at holiday homes are expected to maintain discipline and decorum. Any misuse of the facilities or damage caused to the property of the bank will result in personal liability for the employee. Employees are responsible for the safety of their own personal belongings, as the bank is not liable for any loss or damage.
