Latest List of Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Empanelled Hospitals
The most recent roster of healthcare facilities affiliated with the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) has been released. ECHS is a medical care program that caters to the medical needs of retired military personnel and their dependents. Although the program is not as comprehensive as CGHS, retired armed forces members can still access medical care for certain high-cost surgeries or treatments for a limited number of illnesses covered under the Army Group Insurance (AGI MBS) and AFTIS MIS schemes. ECHS polyclinics have also been established in military areas with five categories: Type A, Type B, Type C, Type C, and Type E ECHS Polyclinics.
Benefits for ECHS Members
ECHS members are entitled to several benefits, including lifetime contributions ranging from Rs 30,000 to Rs 12,0000, depending on their GP or Matrix Level. In case of emergency treatment at a non-empanelled facility, reimbursement is provided at CGHS rates. There is no monetary limit on treatment, and the coverage extends to the spouse and all eligible dependents.
New List of 30 ECHS Hospital List
In the year 2024, a new list of 30 ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) hospitals has been released, providing healthcare facilities to veterans and their dependents. These hospitals are located across the country, with one of them being HCG Cancer Centre (A Unit of HCG Oncology LLP) in Vadodara. Another hospital on the list is Vikash Multi Speciality Hospital (A Unit of Vikash Residential Institutes) in Bhubaneswar. These hospitals offer a range of medical services, including specialized treatments for cancer and other complex diseases, as well as routine check-ups and consultations with doctors. With the inclusion of these new hospitals, the ECHS network continues to expand, providing comprehensive healthcare to those who have served the nation.
