The Department of Posts provides Central Government employees with the opportunity to stay at Postal Holiday Homes or Inspection Quarters at minimal rent or free of charge while on official duty or personal travel. These homes and quarters are located in over 50 cities throughout India, and a list of all Post Office Holiday Homes and Inspection Quarters, including phone numbers and addresses, can be obtained from the Controlling Officer. To book a room in advance, please contact the same officer for further details.

The Circle-wise Postal Holiday Homes in India list for 2024 is also available for reference. To simplify the booking process, Central Government employees can make online payments using their credit or debit cards or internet banking instead of sending a demand draft to the booking agency. The revised online procedure for booking rooms in Central Government Holiday Homes is straightforward and can be completed in four steps via the holidayhomes.nic.in website.

Postal Holiday Home Online booking

The first step is to click on the “Apply Online” link, followed by filling out the application form in step two. Next, subject to room availability, applicants will be redirected to the Payment Gateway in step three, where they can pay the booking charges, convenience charges, transaction charges, and service charges through debit card and internet banking. In step four, after successful payment confirmation by the bank, the system will automatically assign a room to the applicant and generate a booking confirmation slip and SMS. The applicant must then submit the confirmation slip to the counter of the Holiday Home after verification by the Administration.

Please note that once an applicant has submitted their application and booking fees, no cancellations or refunds will be granted.
