Purnima dates are determined based on the Moon’s movements in the sky. The full moon day or Purnima is the 15th day of the lunar month in the Hindu calendar. It usually falls on the same day each month, although the exact date does vary from year to year. Purnima dates for the upcoming year can be found on the Hindu calendar.
Purnima is celebrated on different dates in different parts of India. In the western part of India, it is celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravan (or Sawan).
