TN CM has announced a 4% increase in DA for Govt Employees & Pensioners
The employees, teachers, and pensioners of the Tamil Nadu government can now breathe a sigh of relief as the Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin has announced a hike of 4% in the Dearness Allowance (DA). The retrospective effect of the hike will be from April 1 and is expected to benefit around 16 lakh employees. However, the announcement comes with an additional expenditure of Rs 2,366.82 crore which the government will bear. Despite the state’s debt and financial crisis due to Covid-related revenue dip, the government has promised to fulfil its commitments towards employees. The DA for government staff will now be increased from 38% to 42%, bringing it in line with the central government’s hike.
