The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to the earthquake in Nepal.
Shri Modi said that India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and is ready to extend all possible assistance and he has also wished quicky recovery for those injured.
In a X post, the Prime Minister said;

There is a high probability of continuous heavy rainfall in isolated areas of south peninsular India from November 4th to November 8th, with particularly intense rainfall expected in Tamil Nadu and Kerala on November 4th and 5th, 2023.
Furthermore, there are no significant weather conditions anticipated in other parts of the country over the next five days.
As of today, heavy to very heavy rainfall has been recorded in certain areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala within the past 24 hours (as detailed in Annexure I).
