Puducherry Government Holiday List 2022 PDF Download
The Home Department of the Puducherry Government has published a new list of holidays to be observed during the year 2022 for its offices on 14th September 2021. The detailed holiday list is reproduced and given it below for your ready reference. The first list of 16 Public Holidays for the year 2022 has been indicated for Karaikal Region. The second list of 16 public holidays for 2022 is indicated for Mahe Region. The third list of 16 public holidays with festivals had denoted for Yanam Region.
The part of the order explained the holiday list under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 for the Union Territory of Puducherry during the calendar year 2022. The below holidays are for all Banking Institutions including Co-operative Banks. The first list of Bank holidays for Karikal Region and the 2nd list for Mahe Region and the third list for Yanam Region.
The third part of the above order is indicated the list of 35 Restricted Holiday for the year 2022 in Puducherry.

The following Notification shall be published in the next issue of the Official Gazette:-
NOTIFICATION
The Lieutenant Governor, Puducherry is pleased to declare that all Government Offices / Government Undertakings, Boards and other Institutions under the control of Government of Puducherry and all Banking institutions including Co-operative Banks in the Union Territory of Puducherry shall be closed on the days specified in the notification in Appendix-I and Appendix-II respectively during the calendar year, 2022. The following festivals, which fall on Sunday during the year, 2022 have been excluded from the holiday list:
- Sunday, the 1st May 2022 – May Day
- Sunday, the 2nd October 2022 – Gandhi Jayanthi
2. In addition to the closed holidays, the Lieutenant Governor is also pleased to permit each Government Servant to avail any 2 (two) holidays to be chosen by him / her out of the list of Restricted Holidays in Appendix-Ill.
3. No substitute holidays shall be allowed on any event for the festival holiday initially declared.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by the explanation to section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (No. XXVI of 1881) read with the Notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, SRO No.F.G.P.54 / 99636 / 701, dated 31.12.1955, the Lieutenant-Governor of the Union Territory of Puducherry hereby declares the under mentioned days in the Calendar Year 2022 shall be Public Holidays for all Government Offices / Institutions under the control of the Government of Union Territory of Puducherry for the purpose of that section.
