In the year 2024, the state of Rajasthan will observe a number of bank holidays. These holidays, which are specified under the sections of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, are published separately by the Finance (Leaves) Department. In addition to the regular weekends, which are considered general public holidays, there will be two local holidays declared by the concerned District Collector and the Office of the Resident Commissioner in the Government Office in Delhi, New Delhi. These local holidays are usually declared on the occasion of local festivals or other significant events. However, it is important to note that if the State Government subsequently declares a gazetted holiday on these dates, the local holiday may be subject to change. To ensure transparency and communication, the concerned District Collector is responsible for immediately sending a copy of the order declaring a local holiday to the Finance (Leaves) Department. Moreover, in Kota district, the day following Janmashtami will automatically be considered a holiday instead of Janmashtami itself. Additionally, every bank employee is allowed to choose any two holidays from the list of optional holidays and enjoy them. The dates of Muslim holidays will depend on the sighting of the moon and will be announced accordingly.
