CG Office Holidays in Telangana 2024
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has recently issued an office memorandum in F.No.12/2/2023-JCA dated 3.7.2023, which declares a total of 14 holidays as compulsory closed holidays to be observed in the upcoming calendar year of 2024. Additionally, 3 holidays can be chosen from a separate list provided in para 3.1 of the memorandum. By this, the Hyderabad CGEWCC members have decided regarding the 3 holidays that will be observed as compulsory closed holidays in all central government offices located in Telangana State during the calendar year of 2024.
The first of these compulsory closed holidays will be Pongal, which falls on January 15, 2024, a Monday. This will be followed by Ugadi on April 9, 2024, a Tuesday, and Ram Navami on April 17, 2024, a Wednesday. These holidays have been carefully selected to ensure that employees have the opportunity to celebrate and observe these important cultural and religious events.
Furthermore, in addition to the compulsory closed holidays, 3 restricted holidays have been chosen based on local importance. These holidays are as follows:
1. Holi – March 25, 2024, a Monday
2. Varalakshmi Vratham – August 16, 2024, a Friday
3. Bathukamma – October 3, 2024, a Thursday
These restricted holidays offer employees the flexibility to choose which ones they would like to observe based on their personal preferences and cultural significance.
Overall, with the careful selection of both compulsory closed holidays and restricted holidays, the aim is to ensure that employees in all central government offices in Telangana State have the opportunity to celebrate and observe important cultural and religious events throughout the calendar year of 2024.
