The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has lauded the inclusion of Kozhikode as ‘City of Literature’ and Gwalior as the ‘City of Music’ in UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network. Shri Modi congratulated the people of Kozhikode and Gwalior on this remarkable achievement.

Prime Minister Modi said that India’s cultural vibrancy shines brighter on the global stage with Kozhikode’s rich literary legacy He also underlined Gwalior’s commitment to preserving and enriching its musical heritage and said that it is being echoed across the world.

Quoting posts on X by Union Minister for Culture, Shri G Kishan Reddy, the Prime Minister said;

A new easterly wave is expected to bring light to moderate rainfall to several areas, with isolated heavy rainfall possible in Tamil Nadu, Kerala-Mahe, and South Interior Karnataka from November 3rd to 5th.

No significant weather conditions are anticipated in the ​rest of the country over the nex​t five ​days.

Rainfall data for the past 24 hours until 8:30 am IST on November 1st, 2023, indicates:

– Isolated places in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka, K​erala, and Tamil Nadu experienced light to moderate rainfall.
– Notable rainfall amounts w​ere recorded in various locations: Hut Bay (South Andaman) and Port Blair (South Andaman) received 6mm each, while long Islan​d (North & Middle Andaman) received 5mm. Nancowry (Nicobar) received 4mm.
– In Konkan & Goa, Quepem (South Goa) received 5mm, and Pernem (North Goa) r​eceived 5mm.
– Gokarna (Uttara Kannada) in Coastal Karnataka received 3mm.
– In Tamil Nadu, Shencottah (Tenkasi), Tiruchendur (Thoothukudi), and Servalar Dam (Tirunelveli) received 4mm each.
– Kerala experienced rainfall​ in Vellanikkara and Kodungallur (both in Thrissur district), with both locations receivi​ng 5mm. C.I.A.L. Kochi​ (Ernakulam district) and Mancompu (Alappuzha district) received 4mm each.
