What is Kerala Lottery?
Kerala Lottery refers to a game of chance wherein participants purchase tickets for a chance to win prizes, distributed through a scheme and in any form. The term “lottery” encompasses this scheme and its associated activities.
Is online lottery permitted in the State of Kerala?
Online lottery is not allowed in the State of Kerala as per the G.O.(P) No. 4/2005/TD dated 13th January, 2005 issued by the Thiruvananthapuram government. This directive outlawed the operation of online lotteries within the state’s jurisdiction.
Is it permissible to trade Kerala Lottery through internet?
It is not allowed to engage in the trading of Kerala Lottery via the internet or any other method. Agents are prohibited from selling tickets through online channels or other means without obtaining prior authorization from the Director. Only the sale of physical tickets is authorized.
Can Kerala Lottery be sold outside of the state?
It is not permissible to sell Kerala Lottery tickets outside of the state. Any agent found selling these tickets directly or indirectly outside of the state will be in violation of this regulation.
Is the conduct of 2-digit,3 digit and 4-digit Lotteries based on Kerala Lottery Draw result is permissible in Kerala?
Can the operation of lotteries with 2-digit, 3-digit, and 4-digit numbers based on Kerala Lottery draw results be legally conducted in Kerala? The answer is no. Any individual who acts as an agent, promoter, or trader in any lottery that goes against the provisions of the Central Lotteries (Regulation) Act of 1998, or who sells, distributes, or purchases tickets for such a lottery, will be subject to rigorous imprisonment for up to two years, a fine, or both.
Is it mandatory for the agent to affix seal on the reverse of ticket?
It is required for agents to apply a seal on the back of every ticket, as per regulations. This seal should contain the agent’s name and agency number. Additionally, agents must provide details of their sub agents, retailers, and sellers to the Director or the District Lottery Officer upon request.
